B2B Sales Reps - Employ AI agents that find new accounts for you 24/7

Good morning, and welcome to the very first Monday Brief.

OpenAI spent last week building AI agents that never sleep, which already puts them ahead of most of us after a trade show. Below: what that means for your buyers' inboxes, plus a prompt to try before your sales meeting.

🤖 ChatGPT gets agents that never log off

The Brief: At its developer event on September 29, OpenAI introduced "dots," AI agents that live inside ChatGPT and keep working toward a goal you give them, day and night. Picture an assistant that never clocks out and has never once left early for a dentist appointment.

The details:

  • Each dot gets its own cloud computer and browser, works inside Slack and Microsoft Teams, and OpenAI says it connects to more than 4,000 apps.
  • By default, a dot asks for your OK before it sends a message or edits anything, and you can set rules for which actions need approval.
  • For now, dots are only on ChatGPT's Pro 200 and Business Premium plans, plus Enterprise and Edu workspaces once an admin approves.
  • Keep that approval switch on. A YouTuber recently let Meta's Muse agent run a Facebook Marketplace listing on "Allow Always," and it accepted a lowball offer and gave a stranger the seller's home address (The Next Web).

Why it matters for B2B sales: Your buyers' inboxes are about to fill up with email written by machines that never sleep. The rep who sends fewer, more specific messages will stand out.

🗂️ What an AI agent can actually do for a B2B rep

A friendly robot on a ladder pulling glowing index cards from a wall of drawers at night, a picture of an AI agent finding new accounts and drafting follow ups for a B2B sales rep

The Brief: Chat answers when you ask. An agent takes a job you give it once, works through every step on its own across your email, calendar, the web and your tracker, and can keep running on a schedule while you sleep. Here's what that looks like in a sales week.

The details:

  • Find new accounts: every morning it looks for companies in your territory that fit what you sell, using news, new locations, job postings and funding. You pick who to call.
  • Prep for meetings: before each meeting on your calendar, it pulls the company's latest news and your past emails with them into a one page brief.
  • Chase follow ups: it checks your tracker every day and drafts the follow ups that are due, so they're waiting in your drafts folder.
  • Clean up after calls: talk for two minutes after a call, and it writes the recap email and sets your next reminder.
  • Watch for buying signals: it tells you when a target account opens a new location or lands new funding.
  • Write your weekly report: every Friday it hands you a one page summary of your week for your manager.
  • Keep the approval switch on. Let it read and draft on its own, and make sending wait for your OK.

Why it matters for B2B sales: The busywork moves to the agent, and the calls and relationships stay yours.

Not sure where to start? Tap the jobs you'd hand off first, and I'll send you the steps.

Anthropic

⚡ Claude gets faster and cheaper to run

A paper airplane made from a sales report speeding past a snail carrying paperwork, a picture of the faster Claude Sonnet 5.5 for B2B sales work and sales trackers

The Brief: Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5.5 on September 28. Anthropic says it runs more than 30% faster than Sonnet 5 and costs up to 30% less for most work, mostly because it needs fewer steps to finish a job.

The details:

  • The price per use didn't change. The savings come from Sonnet 5.5 getting more done with less.
  • Anthropic built it for everyday work with a clear scope, like polished documents and spreadsheets.
  • It's available now in the Claude apps and in Claude Code.
  • Anthropic's early testers called it "a better partner for collaboration than Sonnet 5."

Why it matters for B2B sales: The everyday work you hand to Claude, like a recap email or a quick account brief, comes back sooner. If your sales tracker or your favorite prompts run on Claude, you just got a speed boost without lifting a finger.

Google

📬 Gemini can now pull your CRM into Gmail

The Brief: Since September 15, Gemini in Google Workspace can connect to Salesforce, HubSpot and five other business tools. You can ask it about data in those apps while you work in Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Chat, which means fewer tabs and a lot less copy and paste.

The details:

  • The full list: Salesforce, HubSpot, Asana, Atlassian Rovo, Mailchimp, QuickBooks and Monday.
  • It's on by default for anyone with Gemini in Workspace, and your admin can switch it off.

Why it matters for B2B sales: If your company runs on Google Workspace and Salesforce or HubSpot, you may be able to ask about an account without leaving your inbox. Ask IT whether it's turned on before you count on it.

Prompt of the week

Sort your notes before the sales meeting

Five minutes before your Monday meeting, turn last week's scattered notes into talking points.

  1. Copy last week's notes from your tracker or your CRM.
  2. Take out pricing, and check your company's rules before you paste customer notes into any AI tool.
  3. Paste them into Claude under the prompt below.
  4. Read the result out loud once before the meeting starts.
I have a sales meeting in 30 minutes. My notes from last week are below. Sort them into four groups: deals that moved forward, deals that stalled, new leads, and anything I promised to send but haven't sent yet. For each item, write one sentence I can say out loud in the meeting. Use only what's in my notes, and don't fill in anything I didn't write.

[paste your notes here]

Pro tip: Add "Flag any deal I haven't touched in two weeks" to the end, and Claude will point out what's going quiet.
